Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg has publicly challenged Roberta Reardon, his opposite number in AFTRA, to a debate before the membership of both unions over AFTRA's recently concluded deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers -- and Reardon has turned him down. Reardon called Rosenberg's proposal "somewhat disingenuous" since, she said, it would merely "contribute to the destructive and divisive efforts of the last year instigated by the guild's Hollywood leadership." Reardon maintained that AFTRA negotiators had won numerous benefits for its members and denounced SAG's efforts to interfere in AFTRA's affairs and undermine its contract. Moreover, Reardon observed that she herself is also a dues-paying SAG member and as such, she said, "I urge SAG to focus solely on its own negotiations."

Wahlberg Injured By His Daughter
Mark Wahlberg is nursing a bandaged thumb after his young daughter attacked him during a game of tennis. The Boogie Nights star has been forced to promote his new film The Happening sporting a special hand strap to protect his sore digit. And he revealed to the hosts of NBC's Today that four-and-a-half year old Ella-Rae is the culprit. Wahlberg explains, "She whacked me. We were playing tennis. She was thrilled."

Arctic Monkeys - Brit Bands Battle Over A Guitar
British groups THE ARCTIC MONKEYS and THE KOOKS are reportedly at war – over a guitar.
According to the Mirror, the two indie outfits have been at each other's throats for the past year, since KOOKS frontman LUKE PRITCHARD caught ALEX TURNER trying to unplug his instrument during a gig.
"We've had a weird relationship with the Arctics since we first met. I had to kick Alex in the face because he was trying to pull the leads out of my guitar pedals while we were on stage," Luke told the publication.
The singer, whose band have just released their new single DO YOU WANNA, added that he has tried to make it up with Turner and has even asked him to have a jamming session.
However, he claims that Alex just turned his back and walked away.
Meanwhile, regarding other pop feuds, the newspaper also reports that ROBBIE WILLIAMS' drummer has left him to join OASIS, whose lead singer NOEL GALLAGHER has been notoriously scathing of Robbie, once referring to him as "the fat dancer from TAKE THAT".
A source added that the move is sure to "infuriate" Robbie.

National Student Music Awards details revealed
National Student Music Awards details revealed
Details of this year's National Student Music Awards have been announced, with three regional heats set to take place in March.
The awards, which have been previously won by Delorentos, offer Third Level student musicians the opportunity to perform before members of the Irish Music Industry including journalists, broadcasters, A&R personnel, agents and bookers.
A panel of industry experts will pick 12 of the best bands to perform at three heats around the country.
Four selected entrants will compete at each of the three regional heats which take place in UCD, Dublin (6 March); NUIG, Galway (13 March) and Cyprus Avenue, Cork (19 March).
The overall final will take place in The Village, Dublin on 24 April.
The prize up for grabs includes recording time, a cash prize, CD duplication, rehearsal time, a media interview, consultation with a music lawyer and a photography session.
Closing date for entries is 12 February and entry is open to any act that has at least one member in full-time Third Level education in Ireland.
